Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has suggested that the club are considering signing new players as cover for their injury troubles.
The Merseyside outfit currently have eight injured first-team players, five of whom are struggling with hamstring problems.
Reports have claimed that the Reds have opened talks with Borussia Dortmund about signing Neven Subotic on loan as the club currently have three defenders out of action.
When asked about his plans for this month's transfer window, Klopp told reporters: "The truth is that we have to react on the situation.
"It is difficult enough to find quality players, who are in a difficult situation at their own clubs. We have our eyes open in the transfer market."
Liverpool's first signing of the month was completed on Wednesday when Marko Grujic joined the club from Red Star Belgrade, but he will not play for the club until next season.
