Liverpool may reportedly make an approach for Valencia midfielder Carlos Soler during the summer transfer window.

While Soler has been a star man at his boyhood club for a number of years, there has always been the expectation that he will eventually move to a more high-profile team.

With 15 months remaining on his contract, Valencia are doing all that they can to extend the Spain international's terms past 2023, but they will seemingly face a fight to retain the player's signature.

According to GolsMedia, Liverpool and an unnamed Spanish team are keeping tabs on any developments in discussions between the relevant parties.

Liverpool are said to hold a long-standing interest in the 25-year-old, who has come through the Valencia academy setup to contribute 33 goals and 31 assists from 213 appearances.

With Liverpool already well stocked for options in midfield, a sale may have to take place to facilitate the arrival of Soler, who would cost in excess of £30m. body check tags ::
