Liverpool are reportedly monitoring Fortuna Sittard defender Perr Schuurs with a view to a possible move for the youngster.
Schuurs has already established himself as a regular in the first team at Fortuna despite being just 17 years old, even captaining the side at one stage earlier this season.
The Dutch defender was invited for a trial at Liverpool earlier this year and, having impressed during training, the Reds have continued to keep tabs on his progress.
The Daily Mail reports that Liverpool scouted him during Holland Under-19s' matches against Hungary and Slovenia in the recent international break and remain interested in a possible move.
Jurgen Klopp's side may face competition for his signature, though, with Ajax, PSV Eindhoven, Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City all understood in the race too.
Klopp is known to be eyeing up defensive reinforcements, with January moves for Virgil van Dijk and Stefan de Vrij having been touted.
