Liverpool 'lining up £20m move for Toni Kroos'

Liverpool could make a £20m move for Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos in January, according to a report.

Liverpool are reportedly weighing up a £20m move for Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos.

The 31-year-old has only made two appearances for Los Blancos during the 2021-22 campaign due to injury, featuring in the recent defeats to Sheriff Tiraspol and Espanyol.

Kroos's contract at the Bernabeu is due to expire in June 2023, meanwhile, and there have been suggestions that Los Blancos will look to freshen their midfield next summer.

Manchester United's Paul Pogba and Monaco's Aurelien Tchouameni are both believed to be targets for Carlo Ancelotti's side next year.

According to El Nacional, Liverpool could test Real Madrid's resolve to keep hold of Kroos by making a £20m offer for the Germany international during the January transfer window.

The midfielder has made 322 appearances for Los Blancos since joining the club from Bayern Munich in 2014, winning two La Liga titles and three Champions League crowns in the process. body check tags ::
