Liverpool are reportedly not interested in signing David Alaba from Bayern Munich due to reservations over the versatile defender's height.
Alaba is due to be out of contract at the Allianz Arena in the summer and is not expected to agree fresh terms with Bayern before then.
Premier League champions Liverpool are one of several clubs to have been tipped to move for the Austria international this month.
However, The Independent reports that, while the Reds have previously held talks with Alaba's camp, they do not believe that he fits the profile of the type of player that they are after.
It is claimed that Liverpool are after a centre-back who is stronger aerially than the 28-year-old, who stands at 5'9" - the same as Joe Gomez, but smaller than Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip.
Real Madrid are considered the frontrunners to sign Alaba, who is also comfortable playing at left-back, though his rumoured wage demands could prove a major hurdle.
