Liverpool have reportedly outlined a January move for Newcastle United striker Demba Ba that could result in the permanent departure of Andy Carroll.
The Merseyside club failed to secure a new frontman in the summer transfer window after offloading Carroll to West Ham United on a season-long loan.
Reports have claimed that Reds boss Brendan Rodgers will enter the market once again in the winter window determined to nab Ba, while Magpies manager Alan Pardew is thought to be keen on bringing Carroll back to the North East, according to the Daily Star.
It has been suggested that Ba, who scored 17 goals during his first season with Newcastle, is unhappy at the Sports Direct Arena and could be open to an exit.
