Liverpool have agreed with Blackpool over a fee for Tangerines captain Charlie Adam.
The Scottish international has been an Anfield target since January, when Liverpool made two unsuccessful offers, the second amounting to £6.5m.
"Blackpool football club can confirm that an agreement has been reached with Liverpool for the transfer of skipper Charlie Adam,” said a statement.
"The 25-year-old has now been granted permission to discuss personal terms with the club and undergo a medical."
The midfielder will be Liverpool’s second signing of the season following Jordan Henderson from Sunderland.
