Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish has rejected an Aston Villa enquiry over the availability of Andy Carroll, according to The Sunday Express.
According to reports, Villa boss Alex McLeish has attempted to secure a swap deal involving Carroll and Darren Bent, but Dalglish was not interested in discussing a possible deal.
Carroll, 23, could be given an extended run in the Liverpool side following Luis Suarez's suspension, but Villa are expected to return with a bid in the summer if the England striker struggles in the second half of the season.
Carroll has made 31 appearances for Liverpool, scoring six goals.
