Liverpool to allow Rhys Williams to join Swansea City?

Swansea City are reportedly looking to secure a season-long loan deal for Liverpool defender Rhys Williams.

Swansea City have reportedly emerged as the frontrunners to secure a season-long loan deal for Liverpool defender Rhys Williams.

The 20-year-old established himself as an important member of Jurgen Klopp's squad during the last campaign, making a total of 19 appearances in all competitions.

However, with Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Ibrahima Konate at the German's disposal, Williams is now regarded as fifth choice at best.

With the prospect requiring regular first-team football to continue his development, Sky Sports News claims that the centre-back could sign for Swansea.

The Championship outfit are in the market for new additions after collecting just four points from their opening five fixtures.

The report adds that a number of obstacles are still to be overcome before either club will be in a position to confirm a deal. body check tags ::
