Burnley will demand a record tribunal fee for Danny Ings should they fail to agree compensation with Liverpool, according to reports.
The 22-year-old's Turf Moor contract expires in the summer, but because he is an under-23 player, the Clarets will be eligible for compensation if he departs for Anfield as a free agent.
According to the Sunday Times, Burnley want in excess of the £6.5m fee Chelsea paid Manchester City for Daniel Sturridge, the current record total paid in compensation for an out-of-contract player.
The Reds reportedly failed to sign Ings for £4m in the January transfer window.
