Liverpool have reportedly refused to give up on signing Hoffenheim midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson.
The 22-year-old was close to agreeing a switch to Anfield following Brendan Rodgers's switch to Merseyside from Swansea City, where Sigurdsson spent a season-long loan.
Despite the Iceland international's original plans, reports have surfaced claiming that the playmaker has changed his mind and would prefer a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Despite a deal thought to being close, Sigurdsson is yet to agree personal terms with the North London outfit, which has prompted Reds boss Rodgers to try a second time to convince Sigurdsson to move to Merseyside, according to The Mirror.
Meanwhile, Tottenham star Gareth Bale has opted to stay at White Hart Lane by signing a new four-year contract with the club.
