Tottenham Hotspur have supposedly claimed that they are 'confident' of signing Hoffenheim midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson.
The Icelandic international spent last season on loan at Swansea City and appeared poised to join the Welsh club on a permanent deal this summer.
However, former Swans boss Brendan Rodgers's was hopeful of bringing Sigurdsson with him to Liverpool after taking the Anfield managerial post.
Now in a new twist, Spurs are reportedly favourites to sign the 22-year-old after he decided the north London club offered him the best package deal, according to Sky Sports News.
Sigurdsson scored seven goals in 17 appearances at the Liberty Stadium last term.
