Besiktas president Ahmet Nur Cebi has criticised Loris Karius for calling time on his loan period at the Turkish giants before the end of his two-year loan contract.
Despite making 65 appearances in all competitions, the Liverpool stopper had endured a mixed period before returning to his parent club after a dispute over wages.
Although Nur Cebi has acknowledged that cutbacks are having to be made due to the coronavirus pandemic, he says that he was left disappointed by the conduct of Karius.
Speaking to TRT Spor, Nur Cebi said: "Loris Karius is a different case. Of course, we are losing revenue and some of our players have to make some sacrifices if they want to stay at the club.
"But for Karius, I can say I'm very disappointed. His departure from the club wasn't right. He didn't want to be here. It was very disappointing."
Besiktas currently sit in fifth position in Turkey's top flight.
