Manchester City will reportedly consider a move to sign Liverpool star Mohamed Salah should the attacker fail to agree terms over a new contract.
The 29-year-old has already confirmed that he will stay at Anfield next season, but his long-term future with the club remains uncertain as he will see his current deal expire in June 2023.
Salah is yet to agree terms over a new contract despite holding talks with Liverpool for more than a year, and one report has claimed that the former Chelsea man would be open to joining another Premier League club if he decides to leave the Reds next year.
According to The Mirror, Salah's representatives have put Man City on alert as the player is interested in remaining in England, and although the Citizens would not usually target an attacker of Salah's age, they would 'relish' the chance to sign a player of the Egyptian's calibre as a free agent.
The report adds that City would have no problems in matching Salah's wage demands, with the attacker's next contract at either Liverpool of another club set to see his £200,000-a-week wages increase.
Salah, who was voted as the PFA Fans' Player of the Year earlier this week, has recorded 156 goals and 63 assists in 254 appearances for Liverpool across all competitions, including seven strikes in 15 games against Man City.
The Egyptian is not the only Liverpool star whose future has been speculated as Sadio Mane is allegedly looking to leave Anfield this summer, with Bayern Munich believed to be the current frontrunners for his signature. body check tags ::
