Manchester City to rival Liverpool, Barcelona for Renato Sanches?

Lille midfielder Renato Sanches emerges as a January transfer target for Manchester City, according to a report.

Manchester City have reportedly joined the race for Lille midfielder Renato Sanches.

The 24-year-old was strongly linked with a move away from his French club during the summer transfer window but ultimately remained at Stade Pierre-Mauroy beyond the deadline.

There is again speculation surrounding the Portugal international's future, with the likes of Barcelona and Liverpool believed to be interested in signing him next year.

However, according to Fichajes, Man City are also in the hunt for the midfielder, who could be available for a fee of around £35m during the January transfer window.

Sanches has struggled with injuries this season but has still featured on 11 occasions for his French club, scoring once and providing one assist in the process.

The Portuguese, who has a contract with Lille until June 2023, recently opened the door to a January exit by insisting that he is "ready" to take the next step in his career. body check tags ::
