Henrikh Mkhitaryan will reportedly fly to Merseyside later today for a medical with Liverpool, after the Reds agreed a £23m fee for the midfielder with Shakhtar Donetsk.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has made the free-scoring playmaker his top transfer target this summer, with the Armenian international picked out as a player capable of starring in the Premier League.
Despite rumoured interest from Paris Saint-Germain the Reds are in pole position to sign the 24-year-old after agreeing to meet Shakhtar's asking price, according to The Mirror.
Mkhitaryan will now fly to England this morning for a medical and talks over personal terms, with Liverpool thought to be confident of concluding a major summer transfer early this week.
The Reds are also chasing the signature of Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, with Andy Carroll close to heading out of Anfield to finance both deals.
