Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers will reportedly step up his pursuit of Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan as he hopes to have a deal tied up this week.
Rodgers has identified the Armenia international as his primary transfer target this summer and is prepared to spend £20m on the 24-year-old.
Reds managing director Ian Ayre and Rodgers will meet with officials from the Ukrainian side and Mkhitaryan's representatives to secure his switch to Anfield this week, according to The Telegraph.
Liverpool are also close to securing a deal to sign Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.
