Newcastle United have reportedly identified Liverpool duo Divock Origi and Dominic Solanke as potential January signings.
The Magpies have endured a poor start to the campaign, with the club having claimed just two points from eight matches in the Premier League and exiting the EFL Cup with defeat to Nottingham Forest.
Rafael Benitez's men currently sit three points adrift of safety in the standings, and according to the Newcastle Chronicle, the Spaniard is already drawing up a shortlist of targets for the midway point of the season.
The report suggests that Origi and Solanke are on Benitez's radar, with both players struggling to gain regular first-team football at Anfield.
Neither player has featured in a single club fixture this season, and Origi could be allowed to leave in January due to his contract expiring in 2020.
Liverpool are likely to entertain loan bids for Solanke, but Newcastle can only make a permanent offer due to the previous loan additions of Kenedy and Salomon Rondon.
