Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli has reportedly decided to reject a move to Serie A to ensure that he receives a bonus at the end of the transfer window.
Balotelli has struggled to find his best form since Liverpool spent £16m to sign him from AC Milan last summer, and he has been repeatedly linked with a return to Italy after Brendan Rodgers made him train with the club's youth side.
Despite interest from Lazio and Sampdoria, The Mirror claims that the 25-year-old will stay at Anfield to collect a six-figure loyalty bonus he is due to receive for his year on Merseyside.
The report suggests that Liverpool are willing to pay 60% of his £70,000-a-week wages to agree a deal with Lazio or Sampdoria, but the forward now looks set to be with the club until the January transfer window.
Balotelli scored just one Premier League goal in his first season with Liverpool.
