Shakhtar Donetsk chief executive Sergei Palkin has claimed that he has not received an offer from Liverpool for Armenian attacker Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
The 24-year-old was said to be on his way to Merseyside yesterday ahead of a proposed £23m move to Anfield.
Palkin said that he has not spoken to anyone from the Reds, but did admit that he would listen to offers.
"As you know, there have been too many different conversations about Henrik Mkhitaryan, but the situation has been strongly and artificially inflated," he told Russian newspaper Izvestia.
"I can say that we have had no communication from any member of Liverpool.
"Henrikh is an important player in our team. Shakhtar want to keep him but we are willing to listen and consider all proposals for his transfer."
Mkhitaryan scored 25 goals in the Ukrainian league last season.
