Liverpool reportedly made an approach for Tottenham Hotspur defender Steven Caulker earlier this summer.
The 20-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Swansea City, has significantly enhanced his growing reputation during the past 12 months and was rewarded with four appearances for Team GB at London 2012.
Liverpool contacted Spurs about Caulker's availability but the White Hart Lane club have made a decision to reject all enquiries for the player, according to The Mirror.
Caulker was not included in Andre Villas-Boas's 18-man squad for yesterday's 2-1 defeat at Newcastle United.
