Virgil van Dijk has reportedly indicated to Liverpool that he would welcome the chance to discuss a new contract.
The defender has helped Liverpool win the Champions League and narrowly miss out on the Premier League title since his arrival in January 2018.
Van Dijk still has four years remaining on his current deal, but the Liverpool Echo claims that the Netherlands international wants to pen fresh terms at Anfield.
The centre-back will likely be made to wait, however, with Liverpool said to be prioritising negotiations with players who have just 12 months left at the club.
Joel Matip, James Milner and Divock Origi all fall into that category, with the trio having all made an impression in Saturday's victory over Tottenham Hotspur in Madrid.
