Barcelona will reportedly be unable to sign Georginio Wijnaldum until they offload Miralem Pjanic.
Wijnaldum's current deal with Liverpool is due to expire at the end of June, and it looks increasingly likely that the Netherlands international will be leaving Anfield on a free transfer.
Barca continue to be strongly linked with the Netherlands international, who has a close relationship with his former national team manager Ronald Koeman.
According to Sport, Koeman is determined to bring the midfielder to Camp Nou, but the Dutchman must trim the squad in order for the deal to go through.
The report claims that Pjanic, who arrived at Barca last summer from Juventus as part of a deal for Arthur, is already surplus to requirements at the Catalan club.
The 30-year-old is allegedly attracting interest from France and Italy, and Barca are confident of moving him on in the upcoming market to allow them to sign Wijnaldum.
