David Beckham is ready to accept an offer from Stuart Pearce to be a part of the Olympic GB team, according to a report.
The MLS star, whose current contract expires in November, has admitted that he would "love" to take part in the London 2012 Olympics. Earlier this week, Team GB manager Stuart Pearce said that he was unsure if he would be able to offer Beckham a place in the side.
Nevertheless, the ex-England captain is expected to be offered a spot on the 18-man squad – alongside former teammate Ryan Giggs – as one of the manager's three players born before January 1, 1989, according to The Mirror.
The news comes after both Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger opposed the idea of their players taking part in the Olympics if they have already been called up to Fabio Capello's European Championship side for next summer.
