Evian TG have secured their first win in five games with a controlled 2-0 victory away at Lorient in Ligue 1 this evening, thanks to goals from Djakaridja Kone and Cedric Barbosa either side of half time.
Struggling Evian got off to the start they were hoping for as they were ahead after just two minutes, thanks to Kone who rose highest in the centre of the box to bullet a header past Benjamin Lecomte.
Lorient's Walid Mesloub should have brought things level minutes later, but instead Jesper Hansen produced a great stop to deny him at his bottom corner.
Jordan Ayew was the next home player to be wasteful as he headed wide from a Gilles Sunu cross, leaving TG to take a one-goal lead into the break.
Ayew was in the thick of the action again at the start of the second period, with the Ghanaian international seeing his long-distance effort flash just wide of the post.
The visiting side secured their second victory of the season with Barbosa scoring 11 minutes from time, after making use of Daniel Wass's excellent assist to leave the final score at 2-0.
