Lorient have beaten Troyes 4-1 in Ligue 1 at Stade de Moustoir to extend the bottom side's winless start to the season to 13 matches.
Lorient came into the match on a five-game unbeaten run in all competitions which stretchs back until September 27, and they started brightly as Yann Jouffre and Raphael Guerreiro threatened with long-range efforts in the opening minutes.
Benjamin Jeannot tested visiting goalkeeper Paul Bernardoni with an effort from a tight angle as the hosts continued to dominate the possession and the chances, with Troyes' attempts limited to a Fabien Camus effort from 25 yards which was saved down low by Benjamin Lecomte.
Jouffre came close again and Lamine Kone saw his shot saved before Lorient finally found their breakthrough when Jeannot fired home from 20 yards shortly after the half-hour mark.
Ligue 1 bottom side Troyes were winless in their first 12 matches of the season but they initially responded well to falling behind and Jimmy Cabot tested Lecomte with a low effort after he had been found by Brayan Perea.
Shortly after half time, the hosts doubled their lead when Benjamin Moukandjo met Jouffre's fine cross into the box with a simple header from close range, but Troyes were handed a route back into the match moments later when Benjamin Nivet halved the deficit from the penalty spot.
Lorient recovered from that setback, however, to add gloss to the scoreline through Didier Ndong and a second for Moukandjo from the penalty spot as they secured victory.
