Reims have now won two on the trot in Ligue 1 after a solitary goal from Benjamin Moukandjo handed them a slender 1-0 victory over Lorient at the Stade du Moustoir.
Gaetan Courtet threatened for Reims in the early stages, but his headed effort was kept out by a diving Benjamin Lecomte in the top corner of goal.
Lorient looked to push back against the hosts as Gilles Sunu found space inside the box, only to fire his effort high and wide despite having time to pick his spot.
Odair Fortes proved the architect as Reims took the lead in the 75th minute, as the forward crossed for Moukandjo, who prodded in with his right foot from close range.
A lacklustre Lorient were unable to fashion any clear-cut chances in the second period, leaving Alain Traore to test the keeper from distance, only for Johny Placide to save comfortably.
Reims might have notched a second in the win, but Mads Albaek's long-range shot proved just a little too high as it flew over the crossbar, leaving the final score to end 1-0.
