Lorient and Nice proved inseparable in Tuesday evening's Ligue 1 clash, playing out a goalless draw at Stade du Moustoir.
The hosts dominated the opening stages as early chances fell to Didier Ndong and Remi Mulumba, both of whom were denied by the good form of visiting keeper Yoann Cardinale.
Lorient remained on the front foot for most of the first half, but Nice carved out a few chances of their own, including a long-range effort from Wallyson Mallmann that forced Benjamin Lecomte into action.
Ndong tested Cardinale again right after half time as he let fly from the edge of the area, the Nice keeper getting down to smother his shot before it hit the bottom corner.
At the other end, Mallmann tried his luck from similar range on the hour mark, but Lecomte made short work of his effort.
Jean Seri had the chance to win it for Nice two minutes from time when he found space on the edge of the area and got a shot away, but Lecomte refused to be beaten.
Three points separate the teams in Ligue 1 following the stalemate, with Nice in fourth and Lorient sitting in eighth.
