Luton Town midfielder Cameron McGeehan has been banned by the Irish Football Association.
The 20-year-old, who is also eligible to play for England, recently turned down the chance to represent Northern Ireland's Under-21s against Scotland and Iceland because he is reconsidering his international future.
The youngster has now been suspended for the current international break - a punishment that means he will not be able to feature in Luton's trip to Cambridge United in League Two on Saturday.
Luton have appealed the decision and are expected to learn the outcome on Saturday morning.
