Luton Town have confirmed the signing of Jacob Brown from Stoke City for an undisclosed fee.

The 25-year-old joined Stoke in 2020 and went on to score 30 goals in 141 appearances for the club across all competitions, including a career-best 13 in 45 Championship outings in 2021-22 as he won the Potters' Player of the Season award.

Brown netted nine times in 42 games last season, and was on the scoresheet on the opening weekend of the 2023-24 Championship campaign too, scoring a late goal in Stoke's 4-1 win over Rotherham United.

The Scotland international striker becomes Luton's ninth signing of the summer as they gear up for their first-ever campaign in the Premier League.

The Hatters have also brought in Ryan Giles, Tahith Chong, Mads Andersen, Marvelous Nakamba, Thomas Kaminski, Ross Barkley, Chiedozie Ogbene and Issa Kabore since winning promotion from the Championship last season.

"It still doesn't feel real. I've known about the interest for a long time and since I've known about it, I've been so excited. So for it to be finally done, I'm over the moon," Brown told the club's official website.

"It's every kid's dream to play in the Premier League and I've not done it yet. I need to work hard and earn my chance. But if I do get that chance, I'm so grateful and looking forward to it.

"The journey the club has gone on and where it has come from, you can see how much it means to the players, the staff and the fans to be going into the Premier League. To be a part of that now, I'm buzzing for it, and I'm just going to work my hardest and give my all for the fans."

Manager Rob Edwards added: "Jacob really suits the way we want to play. He has power, speed, athleticism, a really good engine to press and continually do that. He can score goals and we want him to be ruthless when he gets the opportunities.

"He can play in a number of different positions, too. We see him as a striker but if we were to change shape, he can play out wide.

"He scored 20 goals across the last two seasons playing a high share of his minutes out wide, so it's a really positive signing for us because he's a great lad, a great human being, and I know he'll fit into the group easily."

Brown, who will wear the number 19 shirt, could make his debut for Luton when they visit Brighton & Hove Albion in their opening match of the new Premier League season on Saturday. body check tags ::
