Lyon coach Remi Garde has said that he is disappointed after his side failed to kill off Lens in their 2-1 defeat to Les Sang et Or in the Coupe de France on Thursday night.
The hosts went a goal ahead in the ninth minute through Jimmy Briand, but were knocked out of the tournament thanks to replies from Pierrick Valdivia and Jean-Philippe Gbamin.
"We're disappointed to have let this chance to qualify for the quarters - in front of our own fans - slip through our fingers," Garde told reporters after the game.
"After opening the score and having a fair amount of control over the match, we got complacent and let a lot of chances go.
"We didn't kill the match off and we paid dearly for it; when you have a lot of chances but remain one goal ahead, you give your opponent reason to believe in their chances."
Lyon currently sit in sixth place in the Ligue 1 table.
