Michel Bastos has revealed on his Twitter feed that he is considering leaving Lyon in the wake of criticism by chairman Jean-Michel Aulas.

Aulas claimed that Bastos's performances have been below par and that "he's going to get much better" in time for the World Cup in Brazil in 2014.

Bastos has reacted with disappointment, tweeting: "I'm saddened by comments made about me. I've never had problems with the group in all the teams I've been part of.

"I respect the club a lot and am saddened by all that. If I'm a problem I prefer to leave in order not to be a bother."

Bastos signed a new four-year contract in September last year.
