Lyon coach Hubert Fournier has admitted that his side needed a win following Friday's 2-1 victory over AS Monaco.
The hosts grabbed all three points and condemned Monaco to their third loss of the season, as goals from Nabil Fekir and Corentin Tolisso were enough to cancel out an effort from Lucas Ocampos
"I want to focus on the win, because that is what we needed," said Fournier after the game.
"We'd been chasing after one for a while. It was a hard-fought victory, because Monaco put all their attacking talents on show in an attempt to equalise. It's not an undeserved win either, though.
"We showed great fragility at the back, notably in the first half. We, unsurprisingly, found ourselves pegged back after a couple of scares that we didn't pay heed to."
The result leaves Lyon sitting in 13th spot in the Ligue 1 table.
