Michel Bastos scored in his first start in almost three months to rescue a point for Lyon against Nancy in Ligue 1.
The 29-year-old scored in the 83rd minute to give his side a 1-1 draw at home and go three points clear of Paris Saint-Germain at the top of the table.
However, it was the visitors who had the game's first chance when Jordan Loties headed towards goal in the ninth minute, but Remi Vercoutre made a good save.
Thereafter, Lyon began to dominate proceedings at Stade de Gerland, with Bafetimbi Gomis, Alexandre Lacazette and Steed Malbranque testing Nancy custodian Damien Gregorini.
Chances for Nancy were few and far between in the first half, as Vercoutre dealt with headers from Lossemy Karabou and Loties just after the half-hour mark with ease.
The second half started on a similar pattern, as Lisandro Lopez saw his shot blocked in the 54th minute, before Bastos shot just wide.
Nancy created a chance of their own just before the hour mark when Yohan Mollo teed up Loties for a shot from just outside the box, but Lyon goalkeeper Vercoutre made a good save.
Loties eventually scored for Nancy in the 74th minute when he found the target from close range, but Bastos saved a point for Lyon with seven minutes left when he fired in from outside the box.
