A first-half goal from Alexandre Lacazette has given Lyon a 1-0 victory over Reims in Ligue 1 this evening.
Lyon dominated the match from the beginning, as Lacazette forced a save from Reims keeper Johny Placide, before Claudio Beauvue tested the Frenchman with an effort from distance.
The hosts were awarded a penalty on 39 minutes as Jaba Kankava handled the ball in the Reims box, but Lacazette struck the crossbar with his spot-kick attempt.
Lyon took the lead on 44 minutes through Lacazette, as the French international striker fired past Placide from close range.
After the break Beauvue missed a chance to double Lyon's lead, as the striker fired narrowly wide, before a Prince Oniangue header also missed the target at the other end of the pitch.
Beauvue hit the crossbar with a header from close range on 56 minutes, before Jordan Ferri and Lacazette both forced saves from Placide.
Reims missed two good opportunities to equalise before the final whistle, as efforts from both Mickael Tacalfred and Oniangue were kept out by Lyon keeper Anthony Lopes.
