Lens won their first Ligue 1 match of the season by edging out Lyon this afternoon.
The visitors also ended a 17-year wait for a win at the Stade de Gerland thanks to an early goal from Lalaina Nomenjanahary.
It was Lens' first goal of the season and came in the 11th minute when Nomenjanahary tapped home Yoann Touzghar's cross from close range.
Lyon's best chances before the break fell to Alexandre Lacazette, but he couldn't find the net.
After half time it was surprisingly Lens who looked most like scoring the second goal and nobody came closer than Wylan Cyprien, whose free kick just before the hour mark struck the crossbar.
Lacazette continued to be denied in front of goal at the other end, but then almost set up an equaliser when he played in Steed Malbranque and the former Fulham man rifled against the upright.
The visitors held on for victory and they now join Lyon, who have now lost two games in a row, on three points in the Ligue 1 table.
