Lyon and Saint-Etienne played out a 1-1 draw at Stade de Gerland in Ligue 1 this afternoon.
Hosting Lyon dominated large parts of the opening 45 minutes, but they were unable to break down the away side's resistance.
Saint-Etienne did manage to find the net in the 29th minute, though, when Yohan Mollo's cross was headed into the net by Kurt Zouma.
Lyon began the second half brightly and their positive play was eventually rewarded nine minutes after the restart.
Lisandro Lopez played a square pass inside the area for Yoann Gourcuff and the midfielder sent the ball into the top corner of the net.
Both teams had chances to win the encounter in the closing stages, but neither were able to find the game's third goal as the spoils were shared.
