Ignacio Camacho has revealed that he is in contract talks with Malaga and is hopeful that an agreement will soon be reached.
The Spanish midfielder was believed to be on the verge of joining West Bromwich Albion in the summer transfer window, only for the move to break down at the final moment.
It had been thought that West Brom would return with a new bid at the start of 2017, but Camacho has confirmed that he is in renewal talks with Malaga, where he "would love" to continue plying his trade.
"The [contract] negotiation is open, but it seems like there is no great hurry to get it done, although I am very calm. Without doubt [I want it to materialise]. I would love to renew [my contract] and for the club to recognise all of my work," Camacho told Marca.
Camacho, who started his professional career with Atletico Madrid, has made more than 150 La Liga appearances for Malaga, scoring 12 times in the process.
