Manchester City have been boosted by reports that playmaker David Silva could shake off a knee injury in time for next week's Champions League clash with Bayern Munich.
Silva has been sidelined since the League Cup defeat to Newcastle United last month but could make a timely return for Wednesday's key encounter at Eastlands, according to The Guardian.
The report goes on to claim that Saturday's visit of Swansea City will come too soon for the Spaniard, who has two goals in nine Premier League outings thus far.
Manuel Pellegrini's side, who sit bottom of Group E, must beat Bayern and Roma in their final two games and hope that results elsewhere go their way to stand any chance of reaching the last 16.
