Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has heaped praise on his side following their 5-0 victory over Steaua Bucuresti this evening.
The Citizens all but secured their place in the group stages of the Champions League with a dominant victory in Romania, giving them a five-goal cushion heading back to the Etihad Stadium for the second leg next week.
Sergio Aguero scored a hat-trick for the visitors after missing two penalties in the opening 20 minutes, and Guardiola was delighted with the performance from his side.
"We are almost in the Champions League and that was our target at the very beginning," Guardiola told BT Sport.
"It was a great performance, we played really, really good. The result is amazing but the way we played, I'm so satisfied and it's a big compliment to these fantastic players.
"All the managers in the world want to create chances and concede few. We are there so now it's rest and focus on our coming games."
City are back in action on Saturday when they take on Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium.
