Manchester City midfielder Jesus Navas believes that his side have to pressure Barcelona when they have the ball to stifle their passing game.
Manuel Pellegrini's side meet the Catalan club in the knockout stages of the Champions League on Tuesday at the Etihad Stadium on the back of their 2-0 win over Chelsea in the FA Cup fifth round.
Navas told The Mirror: "The one thing we must do is play with high pressure and a high tempo. We have to challenge them for the possession of the ball. They are at their best when they have the ball. Without it, they cannot hurt you.
"We have to put pressure on them, maintain the concentration at all times and take the chances. Even the best teams have their weaknesses and Barcelona struggle at set-pieces and counter-attacks, when they lose the ball in attacking positions."
City were knocked of the Champions League at the group stage last season.
