Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has defended Yaya Toure by insisting that it is "unfair" to single out the midfielder for criticism following his performance against Bayern Munich.
The Ivory Coast international suffered some negativity from fans following City's late 1-0 defeat to Bayern in their Champions League group opener at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday.
When asked about the criticism of Toure in today's press conference, Pellegrini said: "No, I don't think it is fair to criticise what Yaya did in the last game. I think that, in this team, my way of thinking, normally when we win or lose it is because all the team did well or bad.
"I don't agree Yaya has all the responsibility for the game we played. Yaya always has commitment with the team and the squad and with his mates and he doesn't have any problems about that."
Toure caused controversy in the summer when he accused the club of failing to mark his 31st birthday.
