UEFA have announced that they will investigate comments made by Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini regarding the referee that officiated in the club's defeat to Barcelona in the Champions League.
The Chilean coach's remarks could land him in hot water after he accused match official Jonas Eriksson of a lack of 'impartiality'.
His words came after the Swedish referee issued a straight red card to City's Martin Demichelis, who gave away a penalty to Barca, which they were able to convert through Lionel Messi.
According to Sky Sports News, the European governing body have revealed that they will investigate Pellegrini's comments, which could result in a touchline ban.
City will travel to Camp Nou next month for the round-of-16 second leg with a 2-0 deficit.
