Patrick Vieira has claimed that Manchester City can win the Champions League this season if their star players are on top form.
The Premier League outfit have never reached the quarter-finals of the elite European competition, but they have the chance to when they face Dynamo Kiev over two legs next month.
Vieira is now in charge of MLS club New York City, but he spent two years overseeing Man City's Under-21 team.
"The club has been working hard to bring top players to win the Champions League," Goal.com quotes Vieira as saying.
"The details will be having all the players fit and 100% because if Joe Hart is at his best, Vincent Kompany stays fit, Yaya Toure is performing at his best and with David [Silva] and Sergio [Aguero], they will have a big chance of winning the Champions League.
"When Sergio is at his best he can make the difference, he is a top player, one of the best in the world and City are fortunate to have a player of that calibre in the team."
Outgoing Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola has been widely tipped to take over from Manuel Pellegrini as manager next season.
