Manchester City defender Kolo Toure has heaped praise upon teammate Carlos Tevez after the striker inspired his side to a 5-0 win over Barnsley this afternoon.
Tevez put his off-field problems to one side to score a hat-trick and set up the other two goals as City cruised into the FA Cup semi-finals.
"He's a great player. We know what he can do and he's shown that again," Toure told ESPN.
"It was a tough game. Barnsley came here and they put us under pressure. But we had a good response by scoring the first goal and the second goal killed the game.
"(The early goal) made a big difference because when you play against that kind of team you need to knock them down from the first minute, which we did and after that they lost confidence."
Toure also voiced his desire to continue at the club beyond the end of his current contract, which runs out at the end of the season.
"I hope something will happen," added the defender.
City will return to league action next week when they travel to Goodison Park to face Everton.
