A long-range strike from David Silva has given 10-man Manchester City a 1-0 lead over Hull City at half time at the KC Stadium this afternoon.
Hull appeared sharp in the opening 10 minutes of the Premier League match, with Nikica Jelavic looking for a way through for the home side.
City were reduced to 10 men early on as captain Vincent Kompany was shown a straight red for bringing down Jelavic as the striker charged towards goal.
However, the sending-off did not appear to hurt the visitors, as they took the lead just four minutes later when Silva drove the ball in from 25 yards out.
Pablo Zabaleta almost doubled their advantage with just over 30 minutes played as he looked to volley the ball in, but the crossbar spared Hull.
David Meyler thought that he had equalised by curling the ball in from the edge of the box, but his strike was ruled out as the Tigers had three players in offside positions.
