Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Leroy Sane is approaching a return to full training at Manchester City.
The German suffered cruciate ligament damage in his knee during the Community Shield meeting with Liverpool back in August.
Having undergone surgery, it was feared that Sane could miss most of the season, but the player has recovered faster than expected.
Speaking on the subject of Sane's injury, Guardiola told The Mirror: "He is close. I spoke with him two days ago. He is training alone with ball and feels he handled it well.
"He is doing incredibly well, his knee looks really good so I don't think it is going to take too much time to come back to train with us."
Reports have continued to link Sane with a summer move to Bayern Munich, who were very keen on doing a deal up until the 23-year-old suffered the injury.
