Everton manager Sam Allardyce has claimed that Eliaquim Mangala is likely to miss the rest of the season due to injury.
The defender only signed for the Toffees in January on a loan deal until the end of the season from Manchester City.
According to Allardyce, the left-sided player's time at Goodison Park will be short-lived as there are fears that he suffered knee ligament damage during Everton's 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace at the weekend.
The manager told his club's official website: "Mangala, particularly, looks like its long-term, which is a great shame for him and for us as I think he was a very good addition to us."
The full extent of the defender's injury is not expected to become known until later this week.
