Manuel Pellegrini has said that he was pleased with his side's "very solid" 4-1 win over Hull City in the League Cup quarter-finals.
The Chilean manager was particularly impressed with how they recovered just three days after overcoming Southampton in a 3-1 victory on Saturday.
"We only had 72 hours to recover, so it was a very good answer from all the squad," he told BBC Sport after the final whistle.
"The most important thing is to be involved in all the competitions at this stage.
"We were very solid and we didn't allow chances for Hull to score."
Man City have been joined in the League Cup semi-finals by Stoke City and Everton, while the winner of Southampton's clash with Liverpool will complete the quartet.
