Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has insisted that he wants the same level of intensity in every match after another convincing win.
City beat Wigan Athletic 5-0 in the League Cup, just two days after beating Manchester United 4-1 in the Premier League.
The Chilean manager revealed that he told his players to keep up that level of performance, regardless of changes to the side.
"I spoke with the players before this game, telling them that we must always try and play in the same way as we did on Sunday," Pellegrini told reporters.
"We can change names, but for me, it was important to see the same team we saw on Sunday, the same philosophy, the same intensity and of course scoring 12 goals in a week is important.
"It's important for Stevan [Jovetic] to score and play well, he hasn't been playing because he had some physical problems at the start of the season but the last two weeks he's been working hard."
City's next game is away at Aston Villa on Saturday.
